I’ll say it again-- Over the past year, I’ve become a big fan of Valiant Comics. I thoroughly enjoy the events and characters that make-up their superhero universe, especially the conflicted protagonists of Toyo Harada and Livewire.

So it was a great pleasure to talk to Valiant’s Executive Editor Joseph Illidge about those characters, Stan Lee, Dwayne McDuffie and how Dwayne influenced Joseph’s approach to editing.

My first interview with David Leach was packed with information.

Well, today's discussion surpasses the first one because in this interview David's passion for the comic book medium really comes out as he talks about his archival work on Flash Gordon and Jack Kirby's and Gil Kane's The Prisoner.

Also, we talk about budgets, agents, and the upcoming Blade Runner comic book.

In this episode, I finish up my interview with BOOM Studios’ Executive Editor Jeanine Schaefer.

Three weeks ago I released a bonus episode in which we talked a lot about hockey. You can still download that.

Today we get back to talking about editing comic books, the role of agents, FIREFLY, Jeanine’s mentor, and the music of John Grant.

During NYCC2018 I grabbed a pint with Mike Perkins and got a chance to ask him about his work on Green Lanterns, Iron Fist, Deathlock and what he thinks of editors.

I followed-up with Charles Ardai about what’s going on with Hard Case Crime comics, especially MINKY WOODCOCK: THE GIRL WHO HANDCUFFED HOUDINI.

October 08, 2018 11:46 AM PDT

I had a quick chat with Dafna Pleban about NYCC2018, Iceland and, of course, The Terror.

Titan Comics editor David Leach provides a history lesson on UK comic books, especially some great behind the scenes stuff about Marvel UK.

In addition to that, David talks about editing humor, the most critical thing he looks for from his writers, and his general take on what an editor needs to bring to the job.

Finally, we talk a bit about the new Blade Runner comic that Titan will be publishing.
